Rainbow Springs State Park
KP Hole Park
Rainbow River in Dunnellon, Florida is one of the state’s most beautiful spring-fed waterways, celebrated for crystal-clear water, lush submerged vegetation, abundant wildlife, and a relaxed Old Florida atmosphere. Flowing from the iconic Rainbow Springs headsprings, this scenic river offers visitors a memorable blend of natural beauty, refreshing water, and one of the most inviting paddling and floating settings in Central Florida.

KP Hole Park is one of the best-known public access points on the Rainbow River and is especially appealing for visitors who want a classic, easygoing river day with easy, direct access to the water. Known for its simple layout and convenient launch area, it offers a true Dunnellon experience centered on the river itself. This is a great choice for guests who want a more direct, less park-like setting while still enjoying one of Florida’s clearest waterways. The park offers full-service restrooms and a snack shop, making it a comfortable and welcoming option for guests spending several hours in the area. During busy seasons, morning parking and capacity can fill quickly, so an early start is the best way to enjoy a smoother arrival. Current published fees are $7 plus tax per park user, with a paddlecraft launch fee of $10 plus tax per person.
Quick tips:

Arriving earlier in the day is the best way to enjoy a smoother start at KP Hole, particularly during peak season. Guests should also plan for river-protection rules, including no alcohol and no disposable containers, and many visitors enjoy paddling upstream first before floating back with the current.
