Frequently Asked Questions

Rental Rules

Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are strongly recommended, especially on weekends, holidays, and during peak season. Walk-up availability may be limited.

Can beginners rent kayaks or paddleboards?
Yes. Many of our guests are first-time paddlers. We do ask that all renters review the safety instructions and use good judgment based on weather and water conditions.

Can more than one person use the same rental?
Please use each rental only as intended. Single kayaks and paddleboards may be used by 1 adult, or by 1 adult and 1 youth if their combined weight stays within the listed capacity. Tandem kayaks may be used by up to 2 riders, subject to the listed weight capacity.

Can I switch equipment after booking?
Equipment changes may be possible depending on availability. If you need to switch from a kayak to a paddleboard, or vice versa, please contact us as soon as possible.

Can I bring extra gear with me?
Yes, as long as the total combined weight of all riders and gear stays within the equipment’s safe capacity and everything is secured properly.

Can I take the equipment to another launch site?

Yes!  That is one of the main benefits of our portable inflatable kayaks and SUPS.  They offer the flexibility for you to explore multiple locations.

Can I use the equipment after dark?

No. Rentals are not equipped with lights required for legal navigation at night.

Is alcohol allowed during my rental?
For safety reasons, alcohol and any impairing substances should not be used before or during your rental.

What happens if I return equipment late?
Late returns may result in additional charges and may affect the next guest’s reservation. Please return all equipment on time.

Weather / Cancellation

What happens if the weather is bad?
YCustomers are responsible for monitoring weather and avoiding unsafe conditions. Do not launch or continue paddling in lightning, strong winds, storms, rough water, or other hazardous weather. If conditions become unsafe while you are on the water, return to your launch point, the nearest safe shore, or another safe landing area as soon as possible.

Do you cancel for rain?
Please check local weather and water conditions before renting. Light rain alone does not always require cancellation, but strong wind, lightning, storms, and rough water should always be taken seriously and avoided.  We recommend checking a local weather forecast before heading out.

What if weather changes after I launch?
If conditions worsen while you are on the water, return to shore as soon as it is safe to do so.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made at least [24 hours] before the rental start time are eligible for [a full refund / credit]. Cancellations made after that window are non-refundable.

What if you cancel due to unsafe weather?
If we cancel due to unsafe conditions, you will receive [a refund / credit / option to reschedule].

Can I cancel because of weather if conditions are still safe?
If rentals are operating normally, customer-initiated cancellations are handled under our standard cancellation policy.

Can I reschedule my booking?
Yes, rescheduling may be possible with advance notice and subject to availability.  Must be requested at least 24 hours before rental start-time.

What happens if I am late or miss my reservation?
Late arrivals are fine.  You can access your rental anytime during your scheduled time but it must still be returned by your scheduled end time.  Missed reservations may be treated as a no-show and may not be eligible for a refund.
